Maintenance Fitter - Preston

Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking for your next opportunity? We’re seeking a skilled and proactive professional to join a busy team, ensuring the smooth operation of plant and equipment in a fast paced industrial setting.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a vital role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, attending to breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements.

🔧 Perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of plant machinery
🔧 Assist in the organisation and execution of preventative maintenance programs
🔧 Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe working condition
🔧 Follow safety protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out and Hot Work Permit procedures
🔧 Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
🔧 Work collaboratively with the team to identify and implement process improvements
🔧 Be available for out-of-hours support to minimise unscheduled downtime

✔️ Trade qualified as a Fitter and Turner or Maintenance Fitter
✔️ 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
✔️ Current forklift licence
✔️ Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems (desirable)
✔️ Experience in plastics extrusion or die technology (desirable)
✔️ Strong understanding of workplace safety and compliance standards
✔️ Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently when required
