Leading Hand - landscaping

EC & CO is recruiting for an experienced Landscaper/Leading hand to join a growing and reputable team based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes real pride in their work, thrives in a team environment, and wants to be part of something long-term, without the pressure of running their own business.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader, someone with strong attention to detail who can confidently mentor apprentices, work alongside others, and support the ongoing growth of a business that’s expanding fast across commercial landscaping projects.

You’ll be joining a team that values quality work and a supportive culture. You’ll be working on a mix of commercial and large-scale projects, particularly across education and public spaces.

Your day-to-day might include:

Building retaining walls (small to large scale)
 

Paving, decking, pergolas
 

Concreting driveways and paths
 

Synthetic turf installation
 

Irrigation and planting
 

Playground installations
 

All aspects of hard and soft landscaping
 

This team is equipped with everything you need, vehicles, machinery, tools, and resources to deliver high quality projects efficiently.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

Have solid experience in commercial landscaping
 

Are a natural team player and mentor, comfortable guiding apprentices
 

Have strong attention to detail and take pride in your craftsmanship
 

Hold a Driver’s Licence and have your own vehicle to commute (public transport is not an option)
 

Hold a Construction Induction Card (White Card)
 

Can confidently work with tools and machinery
 

Are reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic
 

Nice-to-haves (but not essential):

Medium Rigid Truck Licence
 

Excavator or Skid Steer ticket
 

First Aid Certificate
 

Working with Children Check (or willingness to get one)
 

What’s on offer:

Competitive salary (depending on experience) + Super + Bonuses
 

Overtime available
 

Full uniform provided (excluding pants/shorts and boots)
 

Monday to Friday, approx. 7:00am–3:00pm
 

Optional Saturday work
 

Travel, accommodation, and meals covered when working away
 

Park your car at the depot each morning and use work vehicles to job sites
